Rick Street is Managing Partner of Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP and is an active trial lawyer in the firm’s Litigation practice. As Managing Partner, Rick is responsible for oversight of the firm’s administrative team and the firm’s operations. During his tenure as Managing Partner, he has overseen two successful combinations that continued the firm’s growth and expansion to 95 lawyers across five offices in Connecticut. In recognition of his efforts as Managing Partner, Rick was selected as “New England Regional Managing Partner of the Year” in 2024 by American Lawyer Media.
In addition to responsibility for management of the firm, Rick has an active commercial litigation practice. Much of his work focuses on energy businesses, and many of his cases involve land use, catastrophic personal injury, fire and explosion, and construction disputes. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in state and federal courts. His work as a trial lawyer has been recognized by Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation and he has been awarded the prestigious BTI Client Service All-Star designation.

Prosecuted dozens of condemnation actions in state court on behalf of an electric utility to allow for the expansion of its infrastructure within Connecticut.
Litigated numerous matters involving trespass, easements, water rights, adverse possession and boundary disputes.
Represented owner on numerous construction claims in arbitration related to gas main construction.
Argued an appeal on behalf of a hydroelectric company that protected its project’s lands from claims of adverse possession.
Defended numerous fire, explosion wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases.
Represented contractor in the resolution of numerous construction claims related to the construction of a cogeneration facility.
Led the successful eviction of a commercial marina from a hydro-power project.
Obtained an injunction ordering the removal of massive construction and restoration of hydroelectric company lands.
