Mari is an associate whose practice focuses on Energy & Infrastructure and Corporate & Business Services. She advises public and private U.S. and international companies on complex infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, governance matters, commercial transactions, and general corporate affairs.

In her Energy & Infrastructure practice, Mari routinely advises a Fortune 500 public utility company and other energy-sector clients on some of the region’s largest infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Her work spans project governance, regulatory compliance, procurement, competitive bid submissions, funding approvals, engineering and construction contracts, equipment and manufacturing supply matters, project change management, and other strategic commercial issues. She also advises renewable energy developers and utilities on commercial transactions supporting generation, transmission, and other critical energy infrastructure.

In her Corporate & Business Services practice, Mari counsels clients on a broad range of commercial transactions and M&A matters, including procurement, licensing, technology, intellectual property, software, and professional services agreements. Through her secondment as counsel for an ASX-listed neuroscience technology company specializing in digital brain health, cognitive assessments, and electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) solutions, she supports the drafting, review, and negotiation of sophisticated commercial agreements, including master services agreements, software and intellectual property licenses, technology agreements, and contracts supporting global clinical research and drug development programs.

Mari also advises clients on Real Estate Finance and Affordable Housing development matters, including partnership and joint venture structures, development agreements, corporate governance, and related real estate transactions.

Before joining Carmody, Mari practiced law in Russia and in the country of Georgia, where she advised international clients on corporate, environmental, energy permitting, and regulatory matters.

    • Advised a Fortune 500 utility company on project governance and regulatory matters, including key decision-making documents, funding approvals, project change orders, and compliance documentation for multibillion-dollar infrastructure and construction projects.
    • Advised a renewable energy company on procurement and commercial transactions involving hydroelectric generation facilities, including engineering, equipment supply, refurbishment, and professional services agreements.

    • Advised a private equity fund in its $140 million acquisition of a food manufacturer.

    • Advised the buyer in the $5 million sale of a leading manufacturer of custom protective packaging solutions serving various industries.
    • Advised the seller in the $4 million sale of a leading experiential marketing company specializing in custom exhibit design and branded environments.
    • Advised the seller in the $2.5 million sale of a manufacturer of engineered process equipment and modular fluid handling systems.

    • Counseled a housing authority on the development, construction, and operation of a multimillion-dollar 59-unit affordable multifamily housing project in Norwalk, Connecticut.
