Legal Assistant – New Haven office (non-remote)

Carmody is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join the firm, to be based in its New Haven office. This position supports the delivery of quality client services by providing administrative support to lawyers working on litigation and corporate matters.

Skill Requirements

  • Excellent word processing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments, calendars, scheduling, and competing deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented and customer-service minded
  • Mastery of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience filing in Connecticut’s State and Federal Courts, including Appellate filing experience
  • Ability to support multiple attorneys as primary assignments and also provide back-up administrative assistance to others as assigned
  • Ability to communicate professionally with Firm clients and work collaboratively with colleagues and other staff
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least five years’ legal administrative assistant experience in a law firm
  • Working knowledge of LMS+ timekeeping software
  • Experience with Worldox or other document management system
