Aaron practices in the area of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and patent offices around the world. His diverse IP experience covers a wide range of technologies to include photopolymers, flash memory, semiconductors, plating chemicals and processes, and mechanical devices.

Aaron has been a proud member of the Army Reserve for 15 years and concurrently serves as a Major in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. In the Reserve, Aaron is a Brigade Judge Advocate for an expeditionary sustainment brigade where he advises commanders on a variety of legal issues.

Prior to joining Carmody, Aaron spent five years as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office specializing in electrochemical devices such as batteries and fuel cells and five years as an engineer developing clean energy technology as well as emission testing protocols in support thereof.

Experience

  • Drafted numerous responses to Office Actions issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and other patent offices around the world.

  • Served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Texas and as an Army trial attorney, prosecuting various misdemeanor and felony cases (prior to joining Carmody).

  • Developed different waste-to-energy technologies; co-inventor listed on U.S. Pat. No. US 9,399,552 (prior to joining Carmody).
