On September 18th, Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey partner Jay H. Sandak was installed as Chairman of the Board of the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC). CGC, with offices in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, and New Canaan, is a professionally staffed outpatient mental health center for children and adolescents who experience psychological, behavioral, developmental, social or family problems.

Jay and his family have been actively involved with CGC for many years. His father served on the Board and wife, Mary, served for over 20 years and also as Chairman. Jay has been a member of the Board for six years before taking over as Chairman.

“With Jay’s father Harold and then his wife Mary serving on our Board, we have enjoyed over three decades of their family’s involvement with our agency.  Jay possesses a deep commitment to our mission and to the mental health of children in the community. He recognizes the impact of what we do and the very real, very personal difference it makes for so many families and their children’s future,” said Sherry Perlstein, President and CEO of CGC.

Following his installment, Jay said, “It is an honor and a privilege to serve as Chairman of the Board of this very important mental health provider. I am proud to serve with the other dedicated Board members who volunteer their time and resources.”
