SUMMARY:Human Resources Roundtable  Breakfast Series
DESCRIPTION:Based on the success of our Human Resources Roundtable Breakfast Series over the last several years\, we are pleased to announce that we will again offer the series in 2017. \nThe series includes six one-hour informal and engaging roundtable discussions with our experienced labor and employment attorneys on common and challenging employment and HR issues. \nThese interactive sessions are designed to provide you an opportunity to learn and discuss strategies for minimizing legal exposure. You will also have an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other professionals in a relaxed\, informal environment. \nTopics That We Will Cover \nWe will have a facilitated discussion at each session about a particular subject area and will provide\, when appropriate\, sample policies\, forms and other written materials. We may invite outside speakers to facilitate the discussion. \nThe tentative schedule and topics for the sessions is below.  Please note that the schedule is tentative in anticipation of noteworthy developments that appear likely to occur under the Trump administration. \n\n\n\nSeptember 28:\nHow to Conduct Meaningful HR Audits\n\n\nDecember 7:\nTo Be Determined by the Group\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend \nThe sessions are designed principally for Human Resources professionals and in-house counsel. Some sessions\, however\, may be of interest to other company departments such as workplace diversity\, corporate compliance\, and information technology. \nAgenda and Location \nThe sessions will be presented from our Waterbury office\, but individuals may also participate by video conference in our New Haven and Stamford offices. We will provide a complimentary continental breakfast in each office from 8:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. The roundtable discussion will be from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. \nAttendees & Cost \nAttendees may register for any one or more of the six sessions at the price of $65 per session or for all six sessions at the discounted price of $300. SUMMARY:Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey will hold a training session for supervisors on Thursday\, September 7th on the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace.  The program will be presented from our Waterbury office\, but individuals may also participate by video conference in our New Haven and Stamford offices.  Registration starts at 8:15 a.m. and the program begins at 8:30 a.m.  The fee is $75 per person and includes a continental breakfast. \nConnecticut law requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide sexual harassment training for supervisory employees. State law also requires that new supervisors receive this training within six months of assuming their positions. Our training session meets the State’s requirements. We will inform supervisors on how to identify and handle incidents concerning sexual harassment. We also will outline steps employers can take to assert and defend their rights against challenges of harassment. \nWe offer this training session in response to your requests for an efficient way to ensure that all of your supervisory personnel are in compliance with the law.  We will provide written confirmation to your attendees upon completion of the session.
