2022 Diversity Scholar Program
Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey and the Eversource Energy Legal Department will provide a law student who comes from a community that is historically underrepresented in the legal profession, including communities of color, a unique opportunity to participate in their summer associate programs.
The selected student will spend half of the summer with the Eversource Legal Department where they have an opportunity to participate in the day-to-day work experiences of in-house lawyers at a major Connecticut utility. The other half of the program will be spent at Carmody participating in its regular Summer Associate program with exposure to its training programs and work assignments as well as getting a feel for what a career at a firm is like. A mentor from each organization provides professional and personal development assistance.
Carmody and Eversource are committed to the recruitment and retention of attorneys who come from communities that are historically underrepresented in the legal profession, including communities of color. Eversource and Carmody are active in the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity, and both were founding members of this group. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote diversity in the Connecticut legal community, we are pleased to offer this opportunity to first-year law students.
