Ken has a Ph.D. in chemistry and works as a Non-lawyer Technical Specialist in Carmody’s intellectual property group. Ken is proficient in technical areas including pharmaceuticals, photovoltaics, materials and software. He assists the firm’s patent lawyers in various technology areas to help the firm’s clients determine patentability, carry out prior art searches, write applications for new inventions, prosecute applications at the Patent Office, and pursue the appeal process at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Ken understands the technical language of the clients he works with and can successfully guide them through the patenting process.
Prior to joining Carmody, Ken worked for Finnegan LLP where he prepared and reviewed technical documents relevant to patent prosecution, drafted patent applications, and prepared opinions on patent validity.
