We have represented the owners and developers of energy-related businesses throughout the world. Our lawyers regularly are involved in sophisticated and unique projects and transactions such as the divestiture of The Connecticut Light and Power Company's generating assets, Great Britain's first independent electric generation facility, and the first commercial-size windpower plant in Central America.
In Connecticut, we have been involved in the financings for nearly all major cogeneration facilities and, more recently, in the sale and/or restructuring of purchase contracts with private power producers and the divestiture/acquisition of utility generating facilities. With more than a century of experience in utility transactions and extensive experience in private power, we have been instrumental in developing the models for private power transactions. Our work has included drafting enabling legislation for security arrangements and negotiating some of the first intercreditor structures for securing electricity purchase agreement obligations.
