Tony Fitzgerald, a senior partner in Carmody & Torrance’s Litigation Group, practices in the areas of commercial litigation and administrative law. Tony’s extensive trial experience includes labor injunctions, civil rights claims, eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases, tax appeals, employee incentive compensation cases, claims of wrongful discharge from employment, insurance coverage and bad faith issues, legal and accounting malpractice claims, partnership disputes and tradedress cases.

  • Led team assisting electric utility in permitting and construction of $1,000,000,000 electric transmission project, including administrative litigation, defending appeals to court and acquisition of rights by eminent domain
  • Led Carmody & Torrance’s participation as co-counsel for State of Connecticut in action against major tobacco companies
  • Defended national real estate development company in partnership dispute, resulting in defendant’s verdict
  • Prosecuted tax appeal regarding electric generating plant, resulting in reduction of assessment from $835,000,000 to $235,000,000
