Community

We at Carmody & Torrance define ourselves not by who we are, but by what we do. We measure our success as a firm by the results we deliver for our clients and the difference we make in the communities where we live and work. As a firm, Carmody & Torrance provides financial support for numerous civic, charitable and nonprofit organizations, and as individuals – who together, are the firm – we invest our talent, time and enthusiasm in a wide variety of organizations that often reflect personal interests and passions. The organizations with which we are involved include those that further educational opportunities, promote public health, protect and preserve the environment, prevent and treat substance abuse problems, intervene in family crises, provide food for the needy, and provide coaching for school sporting events. The firm strongly encourages all of its members to become involved in the community. To further this goal, we support associates and partners alike in their pro bono work and community involvement. It is our experience and belief that once a dedication to community service is instilled in an individual, it becomes a lifelong commitment that provides a source of joy and hope for both the person who is giving and the community that he or she is serving.

Just over the past few years, Carmody & Torrance has given financial support to over 80 organizations, listed below, that benefit communities within Connecticut.  An asterisk indicates the organizations to which lawyers or staff are directors or have volunteered their time.
